So the girl I nanny for begged me to make cupcakes with her for St. Patty’s (: We decided to try rainbow with “marshmallowww cloooud frosting”—as she put it—aaaand the chaos ensued…
The first time around we dyed the batter in bowls and used spoons to pour it into the cups. HOT MESS, not to mention seriously annoying. Those turned out cool, but more like tye-dye..
Once I got home, I tried again. Using plastic baggies to pipe made this task a lot more managable (knocked out the problem of the paper cups sticking to the spoons..grrrr) and it helped me keep the layers thin (with all the colors we tended to overfill the cups). The end result was delicious and everyone I shared with went crazy over the surprising colors inside andddd the icing (think like homemade marshamllow fluff!), buuut it was a lot of stress over something that was devoured in 3.3 seconds haha. Don’t know if this will be a repeat..
